Artist Statement

Most of my work is centred around the study of flower heads that have dramatic spikes and leaves, I’m fascinated
by the arrangement when several heads interlock together. I’m also working with images of trees, again the interlocking of branches and trunks in a forest environment. When a form like the griffin from Betley Court becomes part of the composition, then the picture takes on a more unusual form, these are the forms that continually fascinate me.
